As an auspicious beginning for the new year, the Circle of Healing will host an open meditation and dharma study group on Thursday evenings, from 7-9 pm. The Longchen Nyingtik Meditation Group meets weekly, to practice group meditation and study the works of Anyen Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist master of the Nyingma tradition.

The coming session, which begins on Thursday, January 5, offers recently recorded teachings from Rinpoche on Bhodichitta, or “Awakened Heart”. The evening will include meditation practice and time for discussion. All are welcome, a donation is requested.

This is an experiential shamanic workshop for men and women seeking the wisdom of the old wise woman. We will explore the ecstatic nature of the shaman through the fierce path of the old ones. They left traces for us to follow. We will use myths, legends, fairytales and encounters with the wise ones as doorways to enter shamanic realms.

We call her by many names: crone, bone-mother, cailleagh, hag, Baba Yaga. To the shamanic initiate her guises are many: teacher, guide, shape-shifter, dreamer and initiator.

The wild one meets us in the deep forest, enters with us into the dark caves, shows up unexpectedly in the desert, or the raging deep ocean. She shows us the mysteries of life, and initiates us into the inner cycles of death and rebirth. She is the midwife of the inner life and caretaker of the soul shrine.

The shaman learns to recognize her guile, for she can enchant us, hold us hostage, nurture and heal us, inspire us and challenge us deeply. Please join this journey into the mystery and realms of the old wise woman.

Susan McClellan has extensive training in core and cross-cultural shamanism and has been initiated into the Celtic and Tibetan traditions. She is a trained shamanic teacher and group facilitator with 15 years of experience. Susan’s wide studies and experience adds diversity, richness and depth to her work.

Delightfully Michelle Evans will also be offering Tarot reading for those who are seeking insight or are curious. Michelle is a very talented reader whose remarkable clarity and knowledge makes her readings unforgettable. Her appointment fill up fast, so be sure to call and reserve you spot. She is offering 25 minute readings for $25.00 from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
